Connect your AI client

Connect El Comandante to your client and sign in with your own Intervals.icu account. One connection covers all tools.

The server manages the Intervals app credentials. You do not need to paste API keys or passwords into your chat.

ChatGPT

1. Open Plugins in ChatGPT, click + and select Add custom MCP server.
2. Enter the name and MCP server URL above. Under authentication, select OAuth or no authentication and use automatic OAuth client registration (DCR).
3. Create and install the connection. Leave the client ID and secret empty.
4. In a new chat, select @El Comandante. When you first request training data, click Connect and approve access in Intervals.icu.

Tools are visible before sign-in; training data is accessible only after you approve access. Team accounts may require administrator permissions or approval. Official ChatGPT guide.

Claude

1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and use + Add → Add custom connector to add a connection.
2. Enter the name and MCP server URL and review the detected authentication settings.
3. Select Sign in now or Sign in when needed. Choose Register automatically for the OAuth client; you do not need to enter credentials.
4. Add the connection and sign in. Enable it in your chat under + → Connectors.

For Team and Enterprise accounts, an authorized administrator sets up the connector for the organization. Each user connects their own account. Official Claude guide.

Google Gemini

Google currently documents custom MCP apps in Gemini for personal Google accounts, users aged 18 or older in the US, and an English interface. Keep Activity must be enabled. If the menu option is missing, the feature may not yet be available for your region or account.

1. Open Gemini in your browser and go to Settings → Connected Apps. Depending on your interface, this may be under Personal Intelligence.
2. Under Custom apps, add an app and enter the MCP server URL.
3. Select Next and complete sign-in. Leave advanced client credentials empty; the server supports automatic registration.
4. In your chat, select @El Comandante and ask a training question.

What happens during sign-in?

For a new client connection, you may first be asked to confirm which client will receive access. Continue to Intervals.icu opens your Intervals app's authorization page. After signing in and approving access, you return to your client. This browser remembers your client approval for 30 days. You may need to approve again after that period or when using another browser.

Enable El Comandante in your chat and write:

Troubleshooting

• Tools are missing: Install the connection or enable it in your chat, refresh the tools, and start a new chat.
• Sign-in has expired: Close the old sign-in window and restart the connection in your client. A sign-in attempt is valid for ten minutes.
• Sign-in is required again: Access tokens expire after 24 hours. Reconnect your account.
• Open WebUI: Select OAuth 2.1, save the connection, and enable the tool for each chat under Integrations. Official guide.
